Harvey T. Strosberg, Q.C., LL.D, D.C.L. is a senior partner at Sutts, Strosberg LLP. He practices almost exclusively in the areas of class action and commercial litigation. Mr. Strosberg has vast trial and appellate experience in the areas of class actions, negligence, personal injury, commercial law, product liability and insurance law. He has appeared as counsel in more than 30 class action certification motions.

Mr. Strosberg was elected Treasurer (Chair of the Board of Directors) of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the governing body of Ontario’s 45,000 lawyers from 1997 to 1999. He has consistently been recognized by Lexpert as one of Canada’s top 25 leading counsel and was named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1991. Mr. Strosberg is also the Editor of the The Canadian Class Action Review .

Mr. Strosberg has recovered more than $1 billion for his class action clients. He was lead counsel in the Hepatitis C class action which settled for approximately $850 million. He was co-lead counsel in the YBM Magnex securities class action which settled for $82 million, co-lead counsel in the Vitamins price fixing class action ($125 million settlement) and lead counsel in the Money Mart class action ($100 million settlement, subject to court approval). Mr. Strosberg has also acted or is acting as lead or co-lead counsel in class actions against, among others, Manufacturers Life Insurance Company, The Toronto-Dominion Bank, The Bank of Nova Scotia, Merck & Co., Inc., Guidant Corporation and NovaGold Resources Inc..
